Day 1: Pick-Up and Drive to Arusha National Park
You will be picked up by your guide and transferred to Arusha National Park, taking in landmarks such as the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater along the way. You will pass beneath a large fig tree (Ficus thonningii), tall enough for a safari vehicle to drive underneath, and a great spot for photos. You will then enjoy a game drive through the park, taking in a variety of wildlife, including large elephant herds, lion, giraffe, gazelle, zebra, and antelope, alongside the acacia trees that dot the savanna plains. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.
After further game viewing, you will drive back to Arusha town, check in at your lodge, and relax while you wait for dinner and an overnight stay at Masai Land Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park Game Drive
Your safari guide will collect you from the lodge after an early breakfast, and with your packed lunch in hand, transfer you to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. The park stretches along the banks of the Tarangire River, largely composed of low-lying hills on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Its vegetation is dominated by acacia woodland and towering baobab trees, with extensive swamps in the southern sections. Both the river and the swamps draw wildlife in large numbers, particularly during Tanzania’s dry season.
Look out for herds of elephant on your game drive, along with lion, giraffe, gazelle, zebra, antelope, and the park’s iconic baobab trees dotting the savanna. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.
After further game viewing, you will drive back to Arusha or the airport, bringing your safari to an end.
