3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park
3 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park; Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most biologically diverse protected area, a landscape of open savanna, crater lakes, and the Kazinga Channel’s hippo-thick waters, all set against a backdrop that shifts from grassland to forest within a single day’s drive. Its wildlife roster runs deep: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and a long list of antelope species, alongside one of Africa’s most reliable lion-tracking research programmes and over 600 recorded bird species.
Because the park offers so many genuinely different ways to experience it, we’ve laid out three distinct three-day packages below, each built around a different core activity: a classic game-drive-and-boat-cruise itinerary, a version centred on the park’s signature lion-tracking experience, and a fuller combination adding the Mweya Peninsula nature walk. All three share the same overall structure and transfer times; the choice comes down to which activities matter most to you.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Evening Game Drive
Your guide picks you up from your location for the six-to-seven-hour drive west to Queen Elizabeth National Park, routed via the Masaka road. You’ll stop at the Equator for photographs and a browse through the roadside craft shops, with lunch taken en route.
On arrival, head straight into an evening game drive, with real chances of spotting lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo before the light fades. Settle in to your lodge, Pumba Safari Cottages for budget or Elephant Hub Lodge for mid-range, for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Wake early for breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive, with a strong chance of encountering lion, leopard, hyena, elephant, buffalo, Uganda kob, warthog, waterbuck, and a rich variety of birdlife. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, board a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where hippo and crocodile crowd the shoreline alongside elephant, buffalo, and a genuinely impressive concentration of birdlife. Return to the lodge to relax before dinner.

Day 3: Return to Kampala
After an early breakfast, check out and begin the drive back to Kampala, with lunch along the way. Your driver will drop you at a location of your choosing, bringing the Uganda safari to an end.
