This trip takes in a wonderful range of safari destinations, including the celebrated Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya and Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, both famous for their wildlife density and the Great Wildebeest Migration, as well as the impenetrable forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.

The trip also takes you to the scenic Amboseli National Park in Kenya, Kibale National Park in Uganda, and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. Detailed Itinerary: 16 Days Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar Safari Holiday

Day 1: Transfer to Amboseli National Park

Your Kenya safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi, brief you on the trip ahead, and set off for Amboseli National Park. On arrival, enjoy game viewing en route to your camp. After lunch, relax until 4 p.m., when you will head out for an afternoon game drive lasting until 6 p.m., with the chance to see lion, elephant, buffalo, monkey, and other wildlife. On a clear day, marvel at the views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight stay at Sentrim Amboseli Camp.

Day 2: Game Drive in Amboseli National Park, Guided Walking Safari

Spend the whole day in Amboseli National Park, often described as an animal’s paradise, beginning with a morning game drive. In the late afternoon, enjoy a guided walking safari through the park for the chance to experience nature and wildlife up close. Return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay, as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley, passing the recently active volcano of Mount Longonot, en route to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Enjoy lunch along the way, then continue to the reserve, taking in wildlife viewing as you transfer to your camp. Check in and relax while you wait for dinner and an overnight stay at Sentrim Mara Camp.

Day 4: Game Drives in Masai Mara, Maasai Cultural Experience

Wake up for a morning game drive in the Masai Mara after breakfast at the lodge, taking in a range of wildlife, including the Big Five. Look out for the reserve’s varied birdlife, as well as its beautiful landscape. Enjoy lunch out in the wilderness, then head out for another game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, as above.

Day 5: Morning Flight to Entebbe, Transfer to Kibale National Park

Your guide will drive you from your lodge to the airstrip in the Masai Mara for your flight to Entebbe. On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be picked up by your guide for a briefing before transferring to Kibale National Park, a drive of five to six hours, with a late lunch along the way.

Continue to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience, Bigodi Swamp Walk

After an early breakfast at the lodge, head to Kibale Forest for your chimpanzee habituation experience, with packed snacks and water in hand. You will first report to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest for the activity. This is a two-to-five-hour activity, so expect to see a range of primate species, including chimpanzee and monkey, as well as forest elephant, buffalo, bushpig, duiker, warthog, reptiles, and a colourful variety of butterflies. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour in their company.

In the late afternoon, head out for a Bigodi swamp walk, offering the chance to spot a variety of birds.

Return to the lodge afterward for dinner and an overnight stay, as above.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, famous for its endangered mountain gorillas. Enjoy lunch en route. Continue to your lodge to relax, with dinner and an overnight stay at Buhoma Haven Lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After breakfast, transfer to the park offices for a briefing on mountain gorilla trekking from a local guide. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi usually takes between two and eight hours, depending on the gorillas’ movement. Encountering the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating experiences of a lifetime, and you will have the chance to observe and photograph them at very close range, watching adults feed and interact with one another.

After an hour with the gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge. Depending on your return time, you may join an optional community tour, such as the Ride 4 a Woman project or the Batwa community. Dinner and overnight stay, as above.

Day 9: Transfer to Entebbe, Fly to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

Drive Time (Bwindi to Entebbe): 8-9 hours. A flight option is available.

Wake up to an early breakfast and transfer to Entebbe International Airport, with a lunch stop en route. You will arrive in time for your flight to Tanzania (book a late-evening flight departing 8 p.m. or later).

Upon your arrival in Tanzania, your Tanzania safari guide will be ready to meet you and transfer you to your lodge. Check in, enjoy dinner, and spend the night at Masai Land Safari Lodge.

Day 10: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

Drive Time: 7 Hours. A flight option is available.

You will have a very early breakfast at the lodge and, with a packed lunch in hand, transfer to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy wildlife viewing along the way, passing through various Tanzanian communities as well as the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camp.

Day 11: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast at your lodge, your guide will take you on a morning game-viewing experience across the vast savanna plains of the Serengeti, searching for the Big Five, as well as wildebeest, hippo, eland, impala, kudu, waterbuck, zebra, giraffe, and predators such as lion, leopard, and cheetah, among others.

You will also have lunch after your morning game drive, followed by another game drive in search of further wildlife. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camp.

Day 12: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater Area, Crater Drive

After an early breakfast, check out of your lodge and continue for another game-viewing experience in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will have lunch before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive caldera, for a wildlife-viewing experience.

You will search for a variety of wildlife species in the crater, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and elephant, as well as predators such as lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, and cheetah, among others. You will also visit Lake Magadi, where you can see hippo and other birdlife. Afterward, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Hhando Coffee Lodge.

Day 13: Drive to Arusha, Fly to Zanzibar

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge, then transfer to Arusha Airport in time for your flight to Zanzibar. Your guide in Zanzibar will be waiting for you at the airport. Check in at the hotel and relax while you wait for dinner and an overnight stay at Nungwi Dreams Hotel by Mantis.

Day 14: Stone Town, Spice Tour, and Prison Island Visit

After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a spice tour on Zanzibar Island, often referred to as the Spice Island, where crops such as clove, nutmeg, vanilla, and cinnamon, as well as fruits like coconut, are grown.

You will also visit Prison Island during your Zanzibar stay, where you can see giant tortoises. Afterward, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, as above.

Day 15: Zanzibar Beach Stay

Today, you will spend the day at the beach. Relax, sunbathe, stroll along the fine white sand, or simply lounge at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel, as above.

Day 16: Departure

On the final day of your safari, enjoy breakfast and check out of your lodge as you prepare for your drive to the airport for your outbound flight. This brings your 16 Days Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar Safari Holiday to an end.
