Detailed Itinerary: 1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Safari
1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Safari Itinerary
Our Rwanda safari guide will pick you up from the airport, or from your hotel of stay, as early as 4 a.m. He will brief you on the safari before transferring you to Musanze (Ruhengeri). On arrival at the Volcanoes National Park headquarters, you will join a briefing on gorilla trekking while enjoying a traditional dance performance by the local community.
You will then be placed into groups of eight and allocated a gorilla family to trek, along with your rangers and guides. This is also the point at which you can hire a porter to help carry your belongings and assist you along the trek if needed.
You will set off in search of your allocated gorilla family, enjoying wildlife viewing, including birds, along the way, plus fascinating insights into the park and its gorillas from your guide.

Trekking through the light mountain forest of the Virunga Massif is an experience in itself, and once you find the gorillas, you will spend up to an hour in their company. Afterward, you will trek back and meet your guide for a well-earned, hot lunch.
You will then transfer back to Kigali, arriving in the early evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel of stay, or at the airport, bringing your 1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Safari to an end.
