A trip to Lake Mburo National Park is one of the best safari packages that Uganda has to offer. It comes with mesmerizing experiences through the lush vegetation and the savannah plains of the park. The trip starts with a pick-up from the capital Kampala followed by a 4-hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park along Kampala – Masaka – Mbarara highway.
The second day includes game drives with in the savannah and boat cruise on Lake Mburo. You will close your safari on the third day with a morning game drive and head back to Kampala for departure.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo national Park
After you have arrived at Entebbe International airport in the morning, you will meet our professional guide / driver. He or she will brief you about the trip and then embark on the journey to Lake Mburo national park.
The journey involves a stopover at Kayabwe in Mpigi district for a memorable pictorial experience at the Uganda equator. You will smile while performing a simple polar water experiment and realize a tropical balance at the equator.
Continue driving through swamps, rolling hills, plantations and Masaka city until you enter the park through Nshara gate just a few kilometers towards Mbarara city.
Upon arrival, relax and have a lunch at your booked lodge.
In the afternoon, you will go for an evening guided nature walk. This will introduce you to the animal species and bird species of the park. It is here that you will prove that Lake Mburo National Park is indeed the “Whispers of the wild.”
Return to your lodge for supper and spend a night.
Day 2: Explore Lake Mburo National Park.
You will wake up early and have a morning breakfast at your lodge before the guide picks you up. You will then go for an amazing morning game drive which involves clear bird and animal views. Lake Mburo national park is a home to hundreds of bird species some of which are rift valley endemics.
Return to your lodge for a lip-smirking lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, you will go for an evening boat cruise at Lake Mburo. Here you will sail the waters whilst watching water birds and aquatic animals such as crocodiles. It is moment turned into memory.
Return to your lodge for supper and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and return to Kampala – departure.
Here we go! We are on the third and last day of the three-day safari. It starts with a morning breakfast and check out of the lodge. It is then followed by a morning game drive which provides you an opportunity of exploring different parts of the park that you might have missed the previous day.
It is a chance for you to see zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, Uganda kobs, impalas, etc. as they feed on grass in the lush vegetation of park.
Continue and drive to Kampala and pass by the craft shop at the Uganda equator and grab something that will always remind you of your trip.
The driver / guide will drop you at any hotel in Kampala or Entebbe airport for departure.
