Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Nairobi. Travel to Masai Mara. Evening game drive
Breakfast will be served to the guests at sunrise at your hotel in Nairobi. After breakfast, a professional tourist guide will pick up the guests from the hotel to embark on the 5 hours and 20 minutes’ journey to Masai Mara national reserve in the South of Kenya. On arrival in Masai Mara, you will drive up to the lodge where you will check in and be served delicious lunch.
After lunch, you will relax at the lodge as you wait for the exciting adventures in the evening. In the evening, you’ll undertake the evening game drive in the northern parts of Masai Mara national reserve where you will have the opportunities to encounter millions of wildebeests and other animals especially zebras, black jackals, servals and hyenas. Enjoy the activity up to twilight where you will then transfer to the lodge for supper and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Full day game drive in Masai Mara.
An early meal will be served at the lodge. After, you will embark on the morning game drive in the central parts of Masai Mara national reserve and later continue to western parts of Mara. On this game drive, you will also have the opportunities to encounter the big 5 animals and also stand a chance to see cats since they are normally active at this time and hunting down their prey. Transfer back to the lodge at high noon for lunch to keep you satisfied and enjoying the game drives.
In the afternoon, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive in the eastern part of Masai Mara that will eventually lead you to the southern parts where you’ll have opportunities to encounter animals especially cheetahs, lions, leopards and hyenas. Head to the lodge in the southern parts of Mara at dusk where dinner will be served and stay overnight.
Day 3: Cross to Serengeti National Park through Isebania border.
A delicious morning meal will be served at day spring at the hotel. After the meal, you will go on to the crossing journey to the southern parts of Mara up to Serengeti National Park through Isebania border, a journey that will take you approximately 3 hours and 29 minutes.
Enjoy the views of the landscape and the animals that you will encounter on the way since all this is a protected area. When you arrive in Serengeti, undertake the drive to the accommodation facility where you’ll be served a mouthwatering lunch and later relax at the facility in the afternoon. Later in the evening you will have a walk around the lodge where you will have the opportunity to view some of the animals in the vicinity of the lodge and also appreciate the nature as you enjoy the ambient environment at the lodge. Dinner will be served at eventide and you will have a night time accommodation at the lodge.
Day 4: Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park.
An early breakfast will be served at the lodge. Later embark on a guided morning game drive through the savannah grasslands and shrubs of Serengeti National Park. The grasslands are a home and a hunting area for the predators. Predators will eat down any prey that dares to pass through their territories. Visitors will therefore stand a chance to view predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs and giant snakes.
Enjoy the game drive up to noontide where you will then transfer back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will have a continuation of the game drive in the afternoon where you will also stand a chance to view other animals especially Defassa waterbucks, elands, zebras, black rhinos, cape buffaloes and black headed jackals. The activity will take you up to eventide where you will transfer to the lodge for a flavorsome dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Game drive in Ngorongoro crater.
You will have breakfast at the peep of the day at the lodge. After breakfast, you will embark on the drive to the southeast all the way up to Ngorongoro crater, a drive that will take you approximately 4 hours and 6 minutes. Ensure to explore the crater to the fullest because you will have opportunities to view the world’s largest caldera that is such a picturesque place and will therefore present opportunities for unusual beautiful photography and videography. Enjoy the activity up to noontide and then drive to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you’ll have an afternoon game drive in the Ngorongoro conservancy which is inhabited by various species of animals and beautiful birds which visitors will have an opportunity to view. The animals in the conservancy include Black headed jackals, common elands, common genets, spotted hyenas, Thomson’s gazelles and baboons not forgetting rare bird species like grey crowned cranes, grey headed kingfishers, southern ground hornbill, black breasted barbet, black chested snake eagle, African paradise flycatcher, African fish eagles, turacos, African open Bills and secretary birds. Enjoy the views of the animals the entire afternoon and at twilight transfer to the lodge for dinner and night time.
Day 6: Transfer to Arusha. Departure.
Breakfast will be served to the guests at cockcrow at the lodging facility. After breakfast, you will take your time and pack your luggage and check out of the Lodge. After there, you will undertake the returning journey back home that will take you up to Arusha for about 3 hours and 49 minutes. In Arusha, you will catch the flight back home which will mark the end of your safari.
