This 10 days safari will ensure full exploration of the most popular safari destinations in East Africa. Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: From Kampala to Bwindi National Park – Rushaga sector.
Pick up from the hotel in Kampala by a safari guide. Be briefed and later embark on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable National Park which will take 10 hours. Have a stopover at Igongo Cultural center where you will have a delicious lunch and also a visit to the museum for insights into the traditions of Ankole.
Continue with the drive to Rushaga sector in southern Bwindi National Park. On arrival in the sector you will check in at your lodge and relax the entire evening. A scrumptious dinner will be served later at sunset and you will stay for a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi National Park. Evening relaxation at lake Mutanda.
A mouthwatering breakfast will be served to you at crack of dawn at the lodge. Thereafter, you will embark on the briefing activity with the National Park Rangers who will tell you about the rules and regulations of the gorilla tracking activity. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey into the jungle to track the mountain gorillas, an activity that will enable you to view the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat and will keep you occupied up to afternoon.
Transfer back to the lodge after the gorilla tracking activity for a delicious lunch. After lunch, you will embark on the drive to lake Mutanda that will take about 50 minutes. Relax at the lake in the evening as you enjoy the sightseeing activity of the nearby islands and highlands covered with lush vegetation. Head to the lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day exploration at Lake Mutanda
Breakfast will be served to the guests at crack of dawn at the lodge facility after which you will embark on an exhilarating sunrise canoeing activity on the lake. The lake will enable you to view various bird species that fly over the lake and also the islands within the lake. This will also come along with opportunities for beautiful photography and videography that you will enjoy the entire morning. Continue and visit the punishment island which has an interesting history that the tour guides at the place will tell.
At around midday, transfer back to the lodge and be served a mouthwatering lunch. After lunch, embark on the sport fishing activity at the lake where you will have an opportunity to catch fish species such as lung fish and tilapia. There will be a sunset canoe trek that you will enjoy and later transfer to the lodge at twilight for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Fly from Kisoro airstrip to Entebbe. Onward flight to Masai Mara in Kenya.
An early meal will be served at sunrise at the hotel after which you will embark on the transfer to Kisoro airstrip. At the airstrip, you will catch the flight to Entebbe International Airport. At Entebbe, have an onward flight to Masai Mara national reserve in Kenya.
When you arrive in Masai Mara, you will continue to the lodge and check in where you will be served a scrumptious lunch. After lunch, you will relax at the hotel and enjoy the view of the entire Outback where you will have the opportunity to spot thousands of wildebeests and other animals. Later at sunset, dinner will be served and you will stay for an overnight.
Day 5: Explore Masai Mara – Full day.
Have a morning meal at the hotel and embark on a morning game drive in the northern parts of Masai Mara that will present opportunities to view animals that live within the reserve especially the big 5 animals.
Stand a chance of seeing predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs as they hunt down their prey like waterbucks, elands and zebras. Continue to the lodge at noon where you will be served lunch and later in the afternoon you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive.
The afternoon game drive will also allow you to observe animals within the park and bird species as you shift southwards of the reserve in the Mara triangle. At dusk, you will transfer to the lodge, relax a little bit and later be served a delicious dinner after which you will head to your rooms and rest for an overnight.
Day 6: Masai Mara Serengeti National Park.
An early meal will be served at first light after which you will embark on a journey to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania that will take 3 hours and 29 minutes. When you arrive in Serengeti, you will check in at the lodge and chill.
In the evening, you will embark on the exciting equestrian horseback riding activity. Enjoy the horseback riding activity the entire evening as you view the breathtaking grasslands and the beautiful animals within. Head back to the lodge at twilight for a delicious dinner and accommodation for the night.
Day 7: Full day in Serengeti National Park.
A delicious morning meal will be served at crack of dawn after which you will embark on a sunrise hot air balloon activity that will parade exciting opportunities to you to view the wilderness of Serengeti and different animals that inhabit it. Visitors on this activity will have the opportunities to view wildebeests from above which is such an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the activity up to high noon where you will transfer back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, have an afternoon game drive in the dry plains of Serengeti for opportunities to view African Bush elephants, African buffaloes, black rhinos, servals and hyenas. The game drive will keep you occupied the entire afternoon and in the evening you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro crater for evening safari.
Breakfast will be served at sunrise after which you will embark on the drive to Ngorongoro crater for 3 hours and 14 minutes. The drive is filled with amazing views of birds since the crater is a bird haven. On arrival at Ngorongoro, you will explore the Conservancy where you will observe rare bird species incorporating Black bee-eaters, cinnamons, cuckoo shrike, egrets, hammerkops, African fish eagles, green turacos, Abyssinian ground hornbill, black breasted barbet, woodpeckers and great blue turacos. Head to the lodge for a delicious lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on an evening game drive in Ngorongoro conservancy where you’ll have the chance to observe the animals within and later at twilight you will transfer to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Morning game drive in Ngorongoro conservancy. Drive to Lake Manyara National park.
An early meal will be served at the lodge. After the meal, you’ll embark on one morning game drive in Ngorongoro conservancy for opportunities to observe the animals that inhabit it encompassing common genets, common elands, impalas, waterbucks, leopards and hyenas. Transfer back to the lodge at around midday where you’ll be served a mouthwatering lunch and later after lunch you will embark on the drive to lake Manyara National Park.
This journey will take approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes and on arrival in the National Park you’ll check in at the lodging facility and relax the entire afternoon. Later at dusk, you will be served dinner and stay for the night time.
Day 10: Lake Manyara National Park game drive and transfer to Arusha for departure.
Have breakfast and embark on a sunrise game drive in Lake Manyara National Park that will present to you chances to view animals that live within the National Park alongside other beautiful bird species. The breathtaking views of Lake Manyara will present opportunities for beautiful photography and sight-seeing that the visitors will indulge in.
At around midday, you will embark on the transfer to Arusha which lasts for 2 hours and 40 minutes. In Arusha, you will proceed to the airport for a departing flight back home.
