This 8 days safari will equip visitors with countless chances to spot countless species of wildlife that inhabit the Great Lakes region. Game drives in Lake Manyara National Park will further provide visitors with opportunities to encounter other wild animals that inhabit East Africa.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. Afternoon cultural encounter to Iby’iwacu village.
A professional tourist guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport with a tourist vehicle. Embark on the drive to Volcanoes National Park which will take you about 2 hours and 23 minutes. Guests will have a mouth watering lunch on arrival in Volcanoes National Park. After lunch, embark on the transfer to Iby’iwacu Cultural village for an extraordinary culture tour, interaction with the Banyarwanda and also have traditional Kinyarwanda entertainment.
Have deep insights into the way of life of the local Rwandan people. The local people will tell you about their culture, have an experience of the food they eat and also indulge in their local dances. The activity will go on up to sunset where you will head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
Breakfast will be served at the lodge facility very early in the morning. After breakfast, you will embark on the briefing with the experts of the National Park including the researchers and park rangers who will let you know about the guidelines of mountain gorilla tracking adventure in this National Park. After the briefing, enter the jungle for the exciting gorilla tracking activity.
the activity you’ll have opportunities to meet the mountain gorillas that inhabit the park especially in the bamboo forests on the slopes of the Virunga ranges. Enjoy the adventure up to the afternoon where you will head back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, check out from the rooms as you enjoy the amenities in the evening. Dinner will be served later at sunset and you will stay for an overnight.
Day 3: Return to Kigali and fly to Nairobi
An early morning breakfast will be served at the lodge. After breakfast, embark on the drive back to Kigali which will take you about 2 hours and 23 minutes. On arrival in Kigali, you will continue up to Kigali International Airport where you will catch the flight to Nairobi. In Nairobi, you will transfer to the hotel and check in. Lunch will be served later in the afternoon.
After the mouthwatering lunch, you will relax at the hotel in your units as you enjoy the views of Nairobi city. A delicious dinner will be served later in the evening and you’ll stay overnight.
Day 4: Nairobi to Masai Mara reserve
A morning meal will be served at the lodge at sunrise. After the morning breakfast, you will embark on the transfer to Masai Mara national reserve, a journey that will take you roughly 5 hours and 20 minutes. On arrival in Masai Mara, your stop will be at the lodge where you will check in and later be served a delicious lunch.
After lunch, embark on the horseback riding activity that will keep you occupied up to the evening as you view the nice vegetation of the park and also spot various wildlife species. At sunset, transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Full day exploration in Masai Mara.
A watering breakfast will be served to the guests at the hotel at sunrise. After breakfast, embark on the morning game drive in the national reserve in the areas of Motorogi, Lemek and Olchoro conservancies. The game drive will provide visitors opportunities to view various species of animals that inhabit the park especially the big 5 animals and the famous wild beasts. Transfer southwards through Samaka hills. Lunch will be served in Mara north.
After lunch, embark on the afternoon game drive in the Mara triangle. Enjoy the drive through Burungati plains where you will have opportunities to further view the wildebeests since they inhabit these areas in millions alongside other countless species of wildlife. Transfer back to the lodge at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti National park.
Have a morning meal at the lodge after which you will embark on the journey to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The journey will take about 7 hours through Isebania border. Upon arrival, take time to explore the northern Serengeti where you will have opportunities to view wildebeests on their migration and also other wildlife species especially lions, leopards, jackals, servals, hippos and crocodiles along the streams. Transfer to the lodge, check in at your rooms and later lunch will be served. After lunch, you will relax in the afternoon in your units at the lodge.
In the evening you’ll have a nature walk in the vicinity of the lodge that will help you view more of the animals that inhabit the grasslands of Serengeti. Transfer back to the lodge at dusk for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Game drive in Serengeti and transfer to Ngorongoro for another afternoon game drive.
Breakfast will be served at the lodge. After the mouth watering breakfast, you will embark on a morning game drive in Serengeti endless plains that will make you stand a chance to view more of the wildlife animals that inhabit the park including the big cats like leopards, lions, cheetahs and other animals especially hyenas and wild dogs.
In the midmorning, embark on a transfer to Ngorongoro crater which will take approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes. Upon arrival in the reserve, you will also be served lunch at the lodge. After lunch, you’ll have an afternoon game drive on the crater floor that will take you through the largest caldera in the whole world where you will spot rare wildlife species as well as the breathtaking views of the caldera which is such a beautiful spot for photography. Head to the lodge at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8: Early game drive in lake Manyara National Park and proceed to Arusha. End of tour.
An early morning meal will be served at the lodge. After, proceed on the transfer to Lake Manyara National Park which will take approximately one hour and 10 minutes. In lake Manyara National Park, you will take a game drive that will help you observe animals that live within this mighty National Park especially giraffes, elands, leopards, jackals, servals, hippos and various bird species. After the game drive, transfer to the restaurant for a delicious lunch.
After lunch, embark on the drive to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport. In Arusha, you will proceed with your forward journeys.
